Summer Lovin'

I love summer!

Finally! Got to go swimming. It is officially summer.
Plus I am done with my mini-mester class.
Plus I get to go on a mini vacation to Colorado to support my dad while he runs the 10k Bolder Boulder run this weekend. Yahoo!

Oh and I have a date with N at the drive in tonight. Pretty excited to see Robin Hood.

Bandeau: Forever 21, Bottoms: PacSun, Crocs: My friend L's (back there with his girlfriend on his shoulders lol)

Always,
Hannah

P.S.
Yes. That is a freshwater clam thing that was gross and slimy. :)

Riley Riley Riley

Word of advice: never Ever EVER take a mini-mester. They mean it when they say its a whole semester's worth of work in 2 1/2 weeks. And I thought my summer started last week...phew.

So when I'm not busy with that (uhm? never.) then I have been playing with this adorable girly:
Miss Riley driving the old pedal cart car on our country rent houses' porch.
"Heenah? I wanna wakeup."-is what I heard at 3:45 this morning from my 2 year old sleepover buddy. She's lucky she's cute (we went back to bed).
She's even a photographer in training. Look at that perspective! Dress-Alloy
How can you not adore this cutie? Obviously her grandparents do while spending the evening throwing rocks into the river.

Hannah

Old McDonald Had A Farm

Day 3 (for me) of Dress Your Best week was my waist. My middle is pretty little and I like it. <- Good song lyrics right?

To emphasize this little middle I thought I would wear the vintage dress I won from a giveaway on Kendi's blog that was sponsored by the vintage shop on Etsy, Finders Keepers. Thanks to both of them! I had to wait to wear it because I sent it home instead of to my dorm in Lubbock.

This is Bingo. That is his name-o.
I loved the color and I got lots of compliments. Bingo liked my leg.

Hannah

I meant to post every day during this week to continue Academichic's Dress Your Best Week, but since my week consisted of:
1) Moving out of a dorm (for forever yay!)
2) Taking one last final
3) Driving 5 hours home
4) Moving into a new rent house in the country that doesn't have any internet and only 3 tv stations
5) Going to my first day of a hybrid minimester for Speech in Waco 40 mintues away
6) Then applying for jobs at Barnes and Noble and a resale boutique
I have been extremely busy.

Yesterday (while attending class and applying) I was celebrating my jaw. It is square and big. And I used to hate it because not very many 10-12 year old girls look feminine with a jaw as big as mine, but maybe that was because I didn't know how to do my hair...oh the joys of awkward middle school!
Anyways, now I love it because I'll forever look young (no saggy jowls for me) and I think it makes me look strong.
I didn't really feel that my jaw looks "better" doing anything special. It stands out on its own.
Skirt: Ann Taylor Loft, Shirt: Old Navy, Shoes: Dillards, Necklace: Gift from Ryne & Rebekah!, Bracelet: Hairband I forgot to take off :)
This is me thinking about how to get everything I need to get accomplished done today. Plus its a close up of my jaw. And the country where there is no internet :(

Always,
Hannah

P.S.
Thanks to all of the sweet comments from Monday's post! It made my day.

mEye favorite!

Yesterday I mentioned that my Mom (and Dad!) did a wonderful job of instilling good sense of self worth and good body image in me. So I was very excited that the lovely ladies of Academichic suggested that other bloggers participate in a week of dressing their best attributes. In this post they fully explain Dress Your Best Week. I picked 5 physical attributes that I like about myself, and this week I will be posting the ways I am accentuating these favorites.

Today I dressed my best for my eyes!
My eyes are blue, sometimes grey, so I paired both of those colors to match.
I thought a little photoshoot in my (mostly) packed dorm room was appropriate since I leave TOMORROW!
This color blue is my favorite. Shirt: Target, Jeans: Forever 21, Shoes: Thrifted, Belt: Thrifted.
My eyes are unique and beautiful. They are the topic of the most compliments I receive from anybody. They help me read, drive, paint my nails, see cracks in the sidewalks, and view God's beautiful creation.

Thanks to Academichic for creating such a neat way to celebrate positive body image.

Always,
Hannah

Ma

Things My Mom Taught Me:
1) There are more important things than shoes.
2) There are more important people than mean ones.
3) How to properly clean a bathroom (even if I don't always utilize such information)
But most importantly she taught me:

-To love all my family, including myself. Thanks for the good body image Mom!
-To have fun, make silly faces, and to laugh at myself every once in a while. Thanks for not taking me or life too seriously Mom!
-What it means to love your husband and family. Thanks for the good example of what a marriage/relationship should be Mom!
- To enjoy my life. Thanks for being my best friend Mom!

Always,
Hannah

TechStyle Fasion Show

I changed my layout. I promise I'll change it again when I feel more creative and I'm not trying to get through finals week.

Finals week is so strange. It is anxiety+boredom=exhaustion. I rolled out of bed this morning at 6:45 to make it to my 7:30 a.m. U.S. History final. I didn't brush my hair or anything. I schlepped it over there rocking my running shoes, jeans, and t-shirt, ala soccer mom fantastic.

Instead I should have taken some notes from the TechStyle Senior fashion show that I attended a few weeks ago:
Stylish (or crazy) purple hat club (why is it called that if they wear red hats?).

High-waisted, funky patterns, bright colors, and Mad-Men influences were abundant.

Creative use of material, and even some mens fashion.

My friend Megan walked for a few of the designers. That's her in the heart cut-out dress (sorry about the picture quality in general...the lighting was horrible and I was not front row), and the two of us after. She did a fantastic job. It was fun to be able to support some style at Tech and in Lubbock!

Now does anyone volunteer to do my last two finals? :)

Always,
Hannah

P.S.
I just love my blue silk Betsey Johnson wrap dress. Thanks N!

Edit: Oops! I meant 'Betsey Johnson' not MJ. I was looking at his collection that was on sale at Gilt.com. Hehe

Latin Lessons

So I have a secret, N and I have been taking Latin dance classes every Wednesday for about 6 weeks (Okay, it's not that big of a secret). Tonight was our last lesson and our instructors took us out to Melt, a lounge that has salsa nights on Wednesdays.

It was fun and scary. Our instructor's friend took me out to dance the Bachata, which I had yet to learn. So here I am moving along with a tipsy, super light, not-my-style lead, and he takes me to spin and pulls my elbow into his face. Into his nose. And he was a wimp. And maybe he covered his face and left the dance floor screaming-ish, attracting everyone's attention in the small venue. Oh lord...it continues to be embarrassing. It was his fault though. I have been led by around 10 boys now and never even stepped on anyone's foot.

N has been pretty great the whole time about learning and doing all of this dancing for me.

After he dropped me off he sent me this message:
"I'm glad I don't have a lame girlfriend that doesn't introduce me to new things"

He's the best. And not nearly as clumsy as me :)

Always,
Hannah
