New Dress/Hair

My dad told me I needed to update my blog. So here it is. Last week I was invited out dancing with a group of girls. I got this dress on super sale at Gap and I love the print. I belted it and draped the top over to make it country dancing appropriate ;)

We had a ton of fun. Slightly funny store, N's roommate K (who is of age) had a little too much to drink and his big ol' 6'5" self asked me to dance. As we're two stepping (with him taking GIANT leaps and me running to catch up) he kept telling me "Hannah, I jusssst don't know what I'd do wiffout you in college" *giggle* Seriously. He giggled. "I cou'int make any decisssions wiffout you....and doesss my breaff smellllll?" And then he spun me out way too far because he has the wing span of a Wandering Albatross. I might have collided with 3 people. Okay 5. This is probably funnier if you knew him. Just like most stories.

I am also thinking about getting my hair cut. I had it short in high school and I'm getting pretty tired of it. I'm thinking something like this:
Except not curly. Or this:
If Brooklyn Decker does it, it must be pretty cute right?

So there's your post Dad. Love you.

Always,

Another Break Please?

I wore this last week. Best comfy shirt from Gap. I bought two.

Shirt: Gap, Shorts: Thrifted Gap, Espadrilles: don't remember
Last week was Spring Break and I worked 35+ hours, and did homework in preparation for my cousin to come in. Mikey was here for 3 days and left just a few hours ago. I can't wait to get a post up about how much fun we had, but now I'm going to rest. I need a break from my break.

Always,
Hannah

The Sun's Still Shining When I Close My Eyes

As my good friend Travis Tritt says, "It's a great day to be alive. I know the sun's still shining when I close my eyes. There's some hard times in the neighborhood, but why can't every day be just this good?" Every country radio station plays this song when the sun is out and the day is beautiful. And rightly so.

Today was a good day. I attended all my classes and I didn't hurt myself or anyone else. I finally received some information and instruction about a large grant that has been offered to me (yay for helpful Texas Loan employees). And I had a successful trip to the Gap with N. N schmoozed an older employee who rang up his purchases separately so he could use his "40% off one full price item" twice and I bonded with my cashier over working retail and she gave both N and I $25 promotional gap money cards (basically gift cards) so that "you can get what you need". What a nice couple of ladies.

Jacket: American Eagle (forever ago), T-Shirt: Gap, Plaid Skirt: No idea. Old Navy maybe?, Black tie espadrilles: I don't remember about these either.

Another outfit I wore to work. I only wear heels during the week when I work the front desk. The weekends I don't get a chance to sit and we all know I have the most tender baby feet in the world. Okay, maybe just I know this.

What good things have happened to you lately?

Always,
Hannah

Spring Break yet?

We're already a week through March? And Spring Break is next week? Please remind me to take all my difficult classes in the Spring Semester because they go by so fast.

I am also loving my job at David's Bridal. I really enjoy all of my coworkers and I am learning a ton about how to treat people in the service industry. I think there should be a rule that people either have to work retail or food service for two months. The world would be a more courteous and kinder place. For instance, women can be ridiculous. "No ma'am. I can't personally sew you that same dress in 4 sizes larger by tomorrow, and we can't order dresses by tomorrow. Maybe you can come in more than a day in advance the next time you get married?"

At work we have a fairly strict dress code. Hems close to the knee, slacks and skirts with jackets, dresses with sleeves (or cardigans). No khaki, denim, or sandals. Makeup, hair, and nails must be presentable. It is hard to not wear the same thing over and over again. What I've worn this weekend:

Jacket: Gap (gift from N) Blouse: Banana Republic, Skirt: saved from my friend Ashley's chunk it pile, Boots: Target (3 years ago!)

Dress: Thrifted Target (does it get cheaper?), Cardigan: thrifted Target (ha!), purple Tights: Gap, Boots: Kmart (that's embarrassing to admit, but they are so comfy)

Apparently I've been into purple. I also wore that outfit, directly above, to church today. My hem line was a little too short for work, but I don't think anyone noticed. I also clocked in right at 1:00. Talented.

I am really glad that everything is going well for me right now, but I miss home just a little. I haven't seen my dad in two months. I think that is the longest I've ever gone and I just wish I could have a full day off with no school or work. Good thing I have two days off for Spring Break. I don't have enough time to drive home though since I'll be working 30+ hours that week. Maybe this means I'm a mini adult now?

Always,
Hannah
