The Sun's Still Shining When I Close My Eyes

As my good friend Travis Tritt says, "It's a great day to be alive. I know the sun's still shining when I close my eyes. There's some hard times in the neighborhood, but why can't every day be just this good?" Every country radio station plays this song when the sun is out and the day is beautiful. And rightly so.

Today was a good day. I attended all my classes and I didn't hurt myself or anyone else. I finally received some information and instruction about a large grant that has been offered to me (yay for helpful Texas Loan employees). And I had a successful trip to the Gap with N. N schmoozed an older employee who rang up his purchases separately so he could use his "40% off one full price item" twice and I bonded with my cashier over working retail and she gave both N and I $25 promotional gap money cards (basically gift cards) so that "you can get what you need". What a nice couple of ladies.

Jacket: American Eagle (forever ago), T-Shirt: Gap, Plaid Skirt: No idea. Old Navy maybe?, Black tie espadrilles: I don't remember about these either.

Another outfit I wore to work. I only wear heels during the week when I work the front desk. The weekends I don't get a chance to sit and we all know I have the most tender baby feet in the world. Okay, maybe just I know this.

What good things have happened to you lately?

Always,
Hannah

  1. When I first saw your post title I though, "Oh honey, that sounds like cataracts." Now I get it. Isn't it nice to see kindness in the world? Sometimes I'm a little convicted (ick, hate the automatic Evangelical connotation there) at how much easier it is to give and receive kindness with strangers. I'm working on maintaining my same level of pleasant out and about and at home. Not sure that answers the question you were asking, but that's what I'm posting;)
